Tucked into the heart of Valencia’s old town, Plaça de la Mare de Déu is one of those places where you don’t need a long itinerary — just find a spot, look around, and enjoy the atmosphere. ☀️🏛️ Surrounded by historic architecture and dominated by the Basilica de la Mare de Déu dels Desemparats, the square is one of the city’s most atmospheric meeting points. The fountain, outdoor cafés and constant flow of people give it a relaxed Mediterranean feeling. 🌿⛲ 📸 Visual Highlights · ⛪ The beautiful Basilica of the Virgin · 🏛️ Historic façades surrounding the square · ⛲ The Turia Fountain at the center · ☕ Outdoor cafés and relaxed Valencian street life · 🌴 Palm trees and Mediterranean light · 📷 Beautiful views toward Valencia Cathedral 🧭 What to Do Nearby · ⛪ Visit Valencia Cathedral just beside the square · 🚶 Wander through the narrow streets of Ciutat Vella · 🌳 Continue toward the Turia Gardens · 🥘 Stop for tapas or traditional Valencian food · 📸 Return around sunset when the surrounding buildings glow in warm light 📝 Insider Tips 🌅 Come in the late afternoon — the square becomes particularly atmospheric as the light gets warmer. ☕ Take your time. This isn’t a place to rush through while checking off attractions. 📷 Look beyond the fountain and photograph the surrounding architecture from different angles. 🚶 Combine it with the cathedral and Plaza de la Reina for an easy walking route through Valencia’s historic center. 🌟 Why It’s Special What I loved about Plaça de la Mare de Déu is that it feels historic without feeling like a museum. People meet here, cafés spill into the square, and the architecture provides an incredible backdrop to everyday Valencian life.

#summervacay If you're in La Vall d’Uixó and feeling like a little leg workout with a side of epic views, Alt de Pipa is the move. It’s a bit of a climb, not gonna lie, but nothing too crazy. Just bring water, snacks, and maybe some chill tunes. The trail starts off pretty tame and then slowly starts snaking up with amazing views sneaking in along the way. Once you hit the top,, panoramic magic. You get full-on views of the whole valley, the coastline in the distance, and even the mountains just casually showing off. It’s super peaceful up there, like nature’s rooftop lounge. Not many tourists either, which makes it even better. Just birds, breeze, and that proud “I did it!” feeling. If you're into walks with a reward at the top, Alt de Pipa’s totally worth it. Plus, great spot for a little photo session or just zoning out and enjoying the silence. Nature wins again!

Castillo Santa Magdalena de Pulpis is one of those hidden gems that make you feel like a true adventurer. Nestled in the hills of the Sierra de Irta, the journey to this castle is an adventure in itself, with dusty trails, the sound of chirping birds, and breathtaking views that get better as you ascend. The hike isn’t too long, but the rocky terrain means you’ll need sturdy shoes. When you arrive at the castle ruins, it’s like stepping back in time to a place where history and nature intertwine. The crumbling walls and moss-covered stones create an atmosphere of quiet solitude, and the lack of crowds adds to the charm. The view from the top is absolutely magical. You’ll be treated to sweeping vistas of the coastline, lush forests, and quaint villages scattered below. Pack some water and snacks, and take your time soaking in the tranquility—it’s a truly peaceful spot. Since this location isn’t widely known among tourists, it feels even more special. If you love serene hikes, historical ruins, and stunning views, this hidden treasure is definitely worth exploring.

#summervacay Morella is one of those towns that just gets you. Surrounded by big ol’ medieval walls and topped with a jaw-dropping castle, it’s basically a real-life fairy tale. The moment you walk through the gates, it’s cobblestone everything, stone houses with wooden balconies, and that cozy village vibe you didn’t know you needed. The streets are narrow and winding, perfect for slow exploring. One minute you’re popping into a cute little shop with handmade crafts, and the next you’re snacking on local cheese and cured meats (which are chef’s kiss, by the way). Oh, and don’t even get me started on the bakeries. Heaven. There’s history around every corner, but it doesn’t feel stuffy, it feels lived in, like time just moves slower here. Locals are friendly, the views are epic, and the castle looming above adds a touch of drama. It’s peaceful, charming, and full of character. If you’re into small-town magic with a dash of medieval flair, Morella is calling your name.

#summervacay Castillo de Morella is like straight-up medieval movie vibes. The whole town is built on a hill, and then, this epic castle just dominates the top like it owns the place (because it basically did back in the day). You can see it from miles away, and it only gets cooler the closer you get. The walk up is a bit of a trek, lots of stone steps and winding paths, but the views? Totally worth the leg burn. You get panoramic shots of the countryside, rooftops, and endless sky. Inside the castle, it’s all crumbling towers, ancient walls, and that "whoa, this is really old" feeling. There’s not a ton of signage, but honestly, just wandering around and imagining knights and battles is part of the fun. The town of Morella itself is super charming too, stone houses, cute shops, and ridiculously good cheese. If you’re into history, castles, or just pretending you’re in Game of Thrones, this place is a must.

#summervacay Sierra de Irta is one of those places where you go for “just a little hike” and end up staying all day because it’s that freaking gorgeous. Think rugged cliffs, quiet trails, wildflowers, and surprise beaches that pop out of nowhere. It’s lowkey but absolutely stunning. I went in with zero expectations and left obsessed. The views of the Mediterranean are unreal, you’re walking along dusty paths with the sea sparkling beside you, and sometimes you don’t see another soul for ages. Pure chill. If you’re into hiking, biking, or just vibing in nature, this place totally delivers. And the hidden coves? Total gems. Bring your swimsuit, because you’ll 100% want to dive in after a few hours under the sun. Also, pack water, there’s not much around except nature (which is kind of the whole point). It’s peaceful, raw, and not overly touristy, which makes it even better. Sierra de Irta is that under-the-radar slice of Spain that’s all about the slow, scenic life.

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) It has nothing to do with the Roman aqueduct, but is a relic of a hydraulic project from the late Middle Ages, around the 13th-14th century, built to provide water to the inhabitants of Morella at the time. Its Gothic-style aqueduct with pointed arches is spectacular and well preserved. It is worth stopping briefly when leaving the city to admire the beauty of the city and take a photo with Cape Moreira in the background, which can create a spectacular photo. #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) The first thing that catches your eye is the castle and the medieval city walls, which were built in the 14th century. The Old Town has notable churches such as the Gothic Church of Santa María Archpriest (1263-1330) with Baroque details; the Old Monastery of San Francisco (13th century); the Church of San Juan (15th century), Gothic with neoclassical decorations; and the Church of San Nicolás, also Gothic; as well as the monasteries of San Marcos and San Pedro Martir. In terms of civil architecture, it is worth mentioning the Casa de la Villa (14th and 17th centuries), the houses of Ciurana, Piquer, Rovira and Cardenall Ram, and the Old Hospital (15th century). Strolling through the stepped streets and arcades of Blasco de Aragon, looping the hill along the Alameda and admiring the medieval aqueduct of Santa Lucia are important ways to get to know the city. The city of Morella has two standout attractions: the cave paintings of Morella La Vella and the shrine of La Virgen de Vallivana. Every six years since 1673, the Virgin Mary is carried in procession through the city. There are many chapels along the road where pilgrims pray and offer prayers during the 22 km walk. #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) Located in the oldest part of town, next to the old neighborhood of La Moreria and at the foot of the Castle of Islamic origin. The building occupies the ancient Casa de la Vila and retains the 15th-century Gothic arches of the old market. The museum organizes guided tours to different historical and cultural sites in the town. #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) The church dates back to the 16th and 18th centuries. I've only visited it from the outside. I hope to see inside soon. As usual, all churches in Castellón are closed, except during worship times. Only during worship time can you enjoy the history and culture of the church. This corner of Boriole is worth a visit. In front of the church we have an ethnographic museum. #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia #ChurchVisit

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) As a nature and mountain lover, you can walk until you reach the vicinity of the castle. Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) The classic villa was built in 1879 due to Benicàssim's magnificent coastal views and its favorable climate. The sunlit coastline of the Mediterranean Sea is striking for its blue waters. This is the ideal place for every family to spend an unforgettable holiday, relax and enjoy the surroundings. This is true today, but it was also true in past centuries. At the end of the 19th century, Joaquín Coloma Grau was the promoter of a unique summer area characterized by charming and elegant residences that began to attract the high society of Valencia and Castellón at the time. The coastal area of Benicàssim is dotted with these famous villas and was once known as "Little San Sebastian" or "Biarritz of Valencia". #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) Unfortunately I discovered it had very short opening hours, but the tower, dome and exterior are very impressive. I suggest you take different photos of the church from different angles. It has a bell tower, considered one of the most important in Lower Plana, completed in 1791, made of ashlar, the tower begins with the first body, square in plan, approximately in the middle, some apses make the transition to an octagonal plan, characteristic of the second body, which also has pilasters and cornices. The altarpiece facade was completed in 1926 in neoclassical style and currently features two images: San Alfredo Abad and San Vicente Ferrer. #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia #ChurchVisit

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) The castle was built by Muslims between the 11th and 12th centuries and was subsequently occupied by the Knights Templar. It is not currently developed for tourism but is more or less preserved. The road is not well maintained and flat, and there are many rocks and potholes, which may affect cars. Climbing up to the castle here rewards you with stunning views. We can even see Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. #FebruaryDestinations2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia #CastleArchitecture

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) Visiting the Castle of Segob was an incredible experience! The place is very well preserved and offers a wonderful panoramic view of the city and the area. The history of the castle is fascinating and this visit provides an excellent opportunity to learn about Segorbe's medieval history. The best part is that Segob Castle is free to enter and is open from 10:00 to 22:00, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. I recommend it to anyone who loves history and architecture! There is a very nice view from the castle entrance and you can sit on the benches and enjoy the view. It is recommended to download the Segorbe tourist app to see a guide to the castle and town. In addition, the Sopeña Promenade is also very charming. #February2025 #SpainTravel #Valencia #CastleArchitecture
