Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. When I visited Choshi, I stopped by Choshi Ichiyama Ikesu for lunch. It was around 1pm on a weekday, but there were more people there than I expected. The restaurant has a large number of seats, and there's plenty of space between them, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. Some seats offer a view of the ocean, which was a nice perk of being able to enjoy the scenery while I dine. This time I had a sashimi platter, beer, and a fish tempura bowl, and the fish was all fresh and delicious. There was also a large fish tank inside the restaurant. This is a great place to enjoy fresh seafood and the scenery in between sightseeing in Choshi. The Inubosaki lighthouse is overwhelmingly famous in the area, but the beauty and presence of this small lighthouse standing on the coast of a small cape where the waves are crashing is overwhelming. On the almost untouched beach, there are only the work tools of the fishermen and telephone poles. They look amazing in any season, regardless of the weather or time of day. Recommended for those who want to spend some time alone! When traveling by car, you must also consider securing a parking spot.

It is located 7-8 minutes walk from Kannon Station on the Choshi Electric Railway. It has a splendid five-storied pagoda, and I feel that it is a temple that is the heart of Choshi town. You can also enter the main hall and pray while you are ordering the goshuin. The Choshi Electric Railway runs once an hour during the day, so I think it would be a good idea to take your time to visit the shrine and then board the next train.

Byobugaura is located in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. The cliffs stretch for many meters and are very impressive! Even the mailbox in Inubosaki is pure white, so it's all white! From the lighthouse you can see the Pacific Ocean, and I was reminded of how vast the ocean is. There are also great scenic spots nearby, such as Byobugaura, so I'd like to visit again. #SummerShortTrip

December 31, 2022 - January 1, 2023 We went to Kamisu to see the first sunrise of the year. Kamisu City, being next to Choshi City in Chiba Prefecture, boasts one of the earliest sunrises in Japan (excluding mountaintops and remote islands), making it "almost" the earliest sunrise in Japan. The sight of the sun rising from the darkness was incredibly beautiful and awe-inspiring. However, it's extremely cold, so warm clothing is essential. Gloves and earmuffs are recommended. Since it's a coastal area, there's a parking lot for the beach. Everyone drives to see the first sunrise, so you need to leave a little early or the parking lot will be full. Our family left the hotel around 3:30 AM and arrived at the beach by 4:00 AM. The day before, we visited Kashima Shrine, Ikisu Shrine, and Katori Shrine. Despite the pandemic, there were many people there during the New Year's holiday. For lunch, we had eel at Asoya in Sawara, Katori City. The eel was plump and crispy on the outside – delicious! The sauce was on the sweeter side. It was my first time experiencing the way of worshipping at Kashima Shrine, passing through the ring. The next day, I went to the Ushiku Daibutsu (Great Buddha of Ushiku). It was incredibly huge and overwhelming.

For the Mid-Autumn Festival, a time for reunion, we are giving you a romantic gift—the Love Tunnel in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, which we visited earlier this month. The Japanese version of the Love Tunnel is actually a railway scene, not a dedicated pedestrian tunnel. It is located near Moto-Choshi Station on the Choshi Electric Railway in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. It gets its name from the dense trees on both sides of the tracks that form an arched green tunnel. Exact location of the Love Tunnel: The section of the Choshi Electric Railway from Moto-Choshi Station toward Tokawa. Best viewing spots: The platform at Moto-Choshi Station or the nearby overpass, where you can watch vintage trains pass through the green corridor. Best season: It is most dreamy in spring and summer, while autumn brings golden hues. When we visited earlier this month, it still looked like summer. Unlike the original in Ukraine, walking on the tracks is strictly prohibited in Japan; you can only view it from the train or the platform. The trains that pass through are mostly retired vintage models, which adds a retro charm to the green corridor. On this day of reunion, take a romantic trip to the Love Tunnel with your loved one!

This trip to Chiko City, chose the dog barking first sightseeing hotel as a base 🌊 The biggest reason is that I really want to stay away from the hustle and bustle, hang out on the Pacific coast hea for a few days 🍀 Not only the scenery is excellent, transportation is even easier than I imagined, in Tokyo Station Yaesu Bus Terminal take the high-speed bus 🚏 sit two hours directly to the hotel door, frequent shifts, drag large luggage do not bother. The 14th Choshi Hawaii Festival is held at Choshi Port Seaside Park! The event takes place on a specially set stage with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and Byobugaura. The Inubozaki Lighthouse is one of only 16 remaining lighthouses in Japan that you can actually climb. Climbing the 99 spiral stairs might sound tiring (it really will leave you breathless 💦), but trust me, the view from the top is absolutely worth it! Standing on the observation deck at the top, with a completely unobstructed 360-degree panorama, the Pacific Ocean horizon appears in a perfect "arc." The sheer awe will make you truly feel that "the Earth really is round!" Moreover, this lighthouse is constructed from 190,000 bricks and is an Important Cultural Property of Japan; the white brick walls are incredibly textured up close. 📸 Must-See Highlights: 1. Panoramic View of the Lighthouse: Stand on the walkway below and look up to capture the blue sky, white tower, and green grass all in one shot. 2. There was no one at Choshi Marina, so we had the sunset all to ourselves.

There's plenty of parking, so it seems like many people arrive by car. The author visited in spring and was taken aback by the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean that spread out before him after climbing the 99-step spiral staircase. At the foot of the lighthouse, there is a "white post that brings happiness" and an exhibition of a giant lens that was actually used, so there are plenty of things to see. It is also famous as a spot to see the first sunrise of the year, and is perfect for commemorating with your lover or contemplating on a solo trip. Transportation: About a 7-minute walk from JR Choshi Station/Choshi Electric Railway Choshi Station 📍Address: 1465 Myoken-cho, Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture 🕰️Opening Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Myofukuji Temple, located in Choshi, was established in the third year of the Shōwa era (1314), boasting over 700 years of history. The temple enshrines the deity Hokushin Myoken Daibosatsu, known as the guardian of the East Sea and a bringer of good fortune. One must-see attraction at Myofukuji Temple is the 'Wisteria of the Lying Dragon.' This wisteria, believed to be 750 years old, was transplanted from Kyoto's Imperial Palace to the temple during its construction, utilizing Choshi's advanced water transportation system. Every May, the wisteria blooms, creating a six-foot-long canopy resembling the shape of a dragon, hence its name. The 'Wisteria of the Lying Dragon' is a purple wisteria. When I visited in late April, about 50% of the flowers had bloomed, with roughly 1/2 to 1/3 of the clusters still in bud form. Full bloom is expected around late April or early May. Besides the Lying Dragon wisteria, the temple also has another smaller wisteria trellis, which was about 80-90% in bloom during my visit, with almost no gaps between the flowers and leaves. Unexpectedly, I also discovered a white wisteria trellis! The white wisteria clusters are shorter in length but visually appear fuller and more lush, creating a dreamy effect. Under sunlight, the white flowers almost seem overexposed. In addition to the wisteria, the temple grounds feature scattered azaleas and other flowers, as well as beautiful floral water basins. Myofukuji Temple offers wisteria-themed goshuincho (temple stamp books), seasonal wisteria goshuin (temple stamps), and wisteria-themed omamori (charms), making it a delightful place for shopping.
