A Wild Walk in Spain's Central Plateau ~ Ciudad Real (Region) It's incredible that there aren't more places like this in such a dry region of Spain. It's definitely worth a visit, especially with children, to cool off in the summer heat. It's small, but I think it's enough for a wonderful day out. There's no age limit for the various slides, and wait times are minimal. A Journey Through Spain's Central Plateau ~ Ciudad Real (Region) This is a must-visit attraction when passing through Ciudad Real—a transitional Gothic-style building whose origins can be traced back to a Romanesque temple. It has undergone multiple restorations, with the most recent one shaping its current appearance. The first renovation took place during the reign of Alfonso X "The Wise." The southern gate and the main altar painting are in Renaissance style. The Perdón Gate features Gothic design with Romanesque elements and is believed to have been the church's entrance during Alfonso X's era. Notable items in the sacristy include several paintings, wooden panels by Becerril, and an exquisite Baroque-style cabinet. The new tower was completed in the 19th century, consisting of four stone-built sections.

Exploring the Central Plateau of Spain ~ Ciudad Real (Region) This gate is the only remaining relic of the Royal Castle in Ciudad Real. It is remarkably well-preserved, with a history dating back to the 14th century. The gate features six arches (two pointed arches on the exterior and four horseshoe arches on the interior). It is flanked by two square towers on either side of the arches, and the walls still bear the emblem of Castile. If you visit Ciudad Real, this site is definitely worth a stop.

A Gothic church. This is the oldest church in Ciudad Real and one of the most important church buildings in the county. Its history dates back to the 15th century and it is built in the Gothic style. Inside the church lies the tomb of Chante de Coca, the confessor priest and military chaplain of the Catholic Monarchs. The 18th-century altarpiece of the church is exquisitely crafted with tiles from Talavera de la Reina.

Inside, there are items borrowed from the Cendrero family, including exquisite fan collections from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, as well as a series of furniture and paintings from the 19th century. In the courtyard of the old house, there is a beautiful ancient city model.

The Museum of Religious Art is located in the old Episcopal Palace and showcases the historical and artistic heritage of the diocese. The museum consists of three rooms where visitors can admire paintings and artworks from the 13th to 16th centuries, hymnals from the 16th century, and religious artifacts from the 17th to 18th centuries. There is also a section dedicated to the Baroque period, featuring works from the 17th and 18th centuries. Highlights include hymnals from the Convent of Calatrava and the impressive sculpture of 'The Last Supper,' which is carried through the streets during Holy Week, along with other notable items.

Spanish Central Plateau Adventure ~ Ciudad Real The universal Don Quixote Museum combines art and multimedia exhibitions to pay tribute to the immortal character created by Miguel de Cervantes. The center's various exhibitions are dedicated to Cervantes's famous novel, Don Quixote. Here, you can see a montage of conversations between the novel's ten characters. There are also approximately ten paintings on Cervantes-related themes by José Jiménez Aranda, one of the finest 19th-century illustrators of Don Quixote. One room recreates the atmosphere of a Madrid printing press in the early 17th century—the time when the first printed edition of the book was produced—while another section features a short multimedia montage about the novel.
