Beautiful day at Painshill Park, Cobham. Great for a weekend sunny day. The whole place is man-made, which makes it even more impressive. There are 2 routes. The longest is the historical one, which includes everything. The Grotto cave is beautiful, particularly when the sun light hits the holes built on purpose. This is a highly recommended place to visit if you got the chance. Tip: buy the tickets online, it is cheaper than at the site.

There are lawns, forests, lake views, small bridges, pavilions, and even man-made caves (the staff said that the crystals inside were all artificially pasted one by one, taking a whole decade!). The park was built in the 18th century and is a private garden created by Charles Hamilton, a leisurely nobleman inspired by his travels in Europe, for himself to play in. His goal is to create a living painting "living oil painting" that blends different styles such as Gothic pavilions, Chinese bridges, ancient Roman temples, and of course, artificial caves and lakes. The presented effect is more varied and interesting than traditional English parks, and more refined and planned than pure wild lawns. Overall, I think it's still worth the ticket price~Tips: one ️⃣ Remember to book tickets online in advance, it's 2 pounds cheaper than offline! (Online) 💷 11.5, Offline 💷 13.5) 2 ️⃣ Gothic Temple is very popular, don't miss it! three ️⃣ To travel from London, you need to take a train to Walton on Thames and then take a taxi, or get off at Esher and take bus route 715 (there are few weekend trips, every 1.5 hours).
