Split-Dalmatia County travel guide and discussion

My journey to Komiža on Vis Island felt like discovering a slower, more soulful side of Croatia. Tucked between dramatic hills and the sparkling Adriatic, this charming fishing town welcomed me with stone houses, a beautiful waterfront, colorful boats, and an atmosphere that made it easy to forget about time. 🛥️💙 I loved wandering along the harbor, watching the boats gently move with the waves, exploring the narrow old streets, and taking in the stunning views of the surrounding coastline. There was a peaceful authenticity to Komiža that made every moment feel special. Away from the rush of bigger destinations, Vis Island gave me the chance to slow down and simply enjoy the sea, the scenery, and the charm of a beautiful Croatian coastal town. One of those places I’ll remember long after the journey ended. ❤️🇭🇷 #komiža #Komiža #Komiza #VisIsland #Croatia #CroatiaTravel #AdriaticSea #Dalmatia #IslandLife #TravelExperience #TravelMemories #ExploreCroatia #Wanderlust

#repeatdestination Some destinations are beautiful once, but a few leave such a lasting impression that you find yourself dreaming about them again. Brela is one of those places for me. 💙 With the crystal-clear Adriatic stretching endlessly ahead, pine-covered coastline, smooth pebbled beaches, and the dramatic Biokovo mountains rising behind, Brela has a natural beauty that never seems to get old. 🌲⛰️ Coming back here feels different from discovering somewhere new. There’s a familiar sense of peace—the same sea breeze, the same beautiful coastline, yet somehow every visit creates a new memory. I could easily return again and again, simply to slow down, walk by the water, and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere. Brela isn’t just a destination I visited; it’s a place I’d gladly make part of my journey more than once. 🇭🇷✨ Some drone shots💥 Definitely try this ,if you are visiting there😍 #brela #croatia #brela #croatia #CroatiaTravel #repeatdestination #AdriaticCoast #DalmatianCoast #BrelaCroatia #MediterraneanVibes #AdriaticSea #BeachEscape #TravelMemories #ExploreCroatia #coastallife #Wanderlust #travelagain #oceanview #coastallife #repeatdestination

If you happened to visit Croatia, it is a good idea to spend a day and a night in this peaceful coastal city. Split is about 3 hour coach or driving from the famous “game of throne” city Dubrovnik. We were visiting during the autumn n winter time. You can basically “own” the street or restaurant. The price of hotel and restaurant is really friendly when it is in a cooler weather here. It is quite a good deal to save money if you just want to visit the historic site. The old town of split keeps the ancient tower and make you feel like you are in a movie. We live next to the habour area can enjoy the breathtaking view. The whole city is within walking distance. You can easily reach DM, restaurant and a little shopping mall within 20 mins walk from south to north. There is split airport around 15 mins drive from town. It is a beautiful new modern airport that consist of pretty much everything you need. Although we visited in a fall time, it won’t be a surprise that the city would be popular and crowded in a summer. I mean who will deny a Croatia beer next to a coastline. #split #Crotia #harbour #oldtown

#bucketlistdestinations I knew Dubrovnik would be crowded before I arrived. I knew it would be expensive. I had also seen the same photos of the Old Town hundreds of times. And I still think it belongs on a bucket list. Walking the city walls was the moment that convinced me. From up there, you get the orange rooftops on one side and the ridiculously blue Adriatic on the other. Every few minutes the view changes again - another fortress, another little harbor, another perspective over the Old Town. Could I have enjoyed it more with half as many people? Absolutely. But that's the compromise with some famous destinations. If somewhere is genuinely extraordinary, you're probably not going to be the only person who wants to see it. I wouldn't tell anyone to skip Dubrovnik because it's "too touristy." I'd tell them to choose their timing carefully, explore early or later in the day and accept that the crowds are part of the deal. Would you rather see an incredible place with crowds or skip it and find somewhere less famous? #Dubrovnik #Croatia #Adriatic #CroatiaTravel #EuropeTravel

Some of the best travel photographs happen completely by chance. While exploring Dubrovnik, Croatia, I suddenly stopped, took a quick click, and captured a moment that perfectly reflected the charm of this beautiful coastal city. 📸 The historic stone streets, distinctive architecture, sparkling Adriatic Sea, and warm Mediterranean atmosphere make Dubrovnik feel incredibly special. There’s something magical about simply wandering around and discovering beautiful scenes without looking for them. 🌊🏛️ No planned pose, no perfect setup—just a spontaneous moment from an unforgettable journey. 📍 Dubrovnik, Croatia 🌊 Adriatic views | 🏛️ Historic charm | ☀️ Mediterranean atmosphere | 📸 Unplanned memories Sometimes you don’t find the perfect photo—the perfect moment simply finds you. ❤️ #Dubrovnik #Croatia #DubrovnikCroatia #CroatiaTravel #AdriaticSea #TravelPhotography #SuddenClick #TravelMemories #Tripcom #EuropeanTravel #Wanderlust

Drvenik Veli is one of Croatian islands. It is not as popular as Hvar, Brač or Korčula and maybe that’s what makes it even more special. You can enjoy the view of the sunset, calm sea, no tourists around you and good octopus salad or fish. I recommend you a restaurant “Kod Jere”. If you would like to try something even more traditional, make sure to call the restaurant in the morning to prepare you “hobotnica ispod peke” for your evening meal. It requires hours of cooking and if you don’t call on time, you won’t be able to get it. In the center is monument for people who were in El Shatt camp. It is also a nice port to come with your yacht. Relatively nearby is Split airport. #travel #seascapes #croatia #croatiaviews #islands

The Pearl of the Adriatic, where medieval walls meet the sparkling sea. 🌊 Explored the magnificent Old Town, famously transformed into King's Landing in Game of Thrones. Climbed to the Fort Lovrijenac and the city walls for breathtaking panoramic views over Dubrovnik's terracotta rooftops and the Adriatic Sea. Strolled through the charming Old Port, where boats depart for the beautiful island of Lokrum (Otok Lokrum)—another filming location featured in Game of Thrones. Every stone street, ancient fortress, and sea view feels like stepping into both history and the world of fantasy. Dubrovnik is truly one of Europe's most unforgettable destinations. #Dubrovnik #Croatia #GameOfThrones #KingsLanding #FortLovrijenac #OldTown #Lokrum #AdriaticSea #TravelPhotography #Wanderlust #LostPanda ✈️📸

#0 yen trip To Split The second largest city in Croatia after the capital Zagreb, Diocletian's Palace and the historic sites of Split are located there. After entering the gate, you arrive at the palace courtyard "Peristil". It can be said to be the main stage of Split, with its beautiful 12 Corinthian stone columns. When talking about the history of Split, it is essential to mention the ancient Roman Emperor Diocletian. He was originally from a poor family but rose to become emperor and is famous for his talent for politics. He was also a person who feared the theistic Christianity that was spreading at the time and suppressed it. As the Roman Empire declined, the palace fell into ruins, but people later settled there and used it as a town, developing it, and it is still inhabited today, making it a city with a very unusual history. It's amazing that he rose from poverty to become an emperor in the past🤴 And the fact that the area around the palace has become a residential area makes it seem like living in royalty🏰

Split, an old town built on top of a palace The city was built after Diocletian's Palace was abandoned, so there are traces of the palace everywhere, such as underground spaces and squares 🏰 There are many souvenir shops and open-air markets, and in the shade of the trees, there was an old man playing the guitar and singing, so it was full of energy 🍎 I stopped by a souvenir shop to buy some lavender potpourri, and the old man there said, "Japan is my favorite country," which made me very happy 🩷 #Croatia #Split #Croatia #Split #CroatiaTourism #Diocletian'sPalace
