15th-century Gothic church with a unique baptistery

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region) The construction of the Santiago Archdeaconry dates back to the 13th century. At the end of the 15th century, the church began to be expanded under the sponsorship of the Medina family. Completed in the 16th century, these works introduced some of the church’s most noteworthy Renaissance elements, such as the doorway in the sacristy, the vestry, and the baptistery. It is one of the most important Gothic-Renaissance sites in the Valencia region. Its floor plan has three naves and inside there is a beautiful baptistery.
