Chairman Mao Memorial Hall

The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located at No. 1 Jinianguan Road, Anguo City, Hebei Province. It covers an area of 5,527 square meters, with a building area of 2,806 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 684 square meters. It mainly consists of a paifang, an exhibition hall (central hall and east and west halls), east and west corridors, and east and west wing rooms. It is a memorial building built to commemorate Chairman Mao Zedong's visit to Anguo on August 5, 1958. The memorial hall was first built in 1959, when only three memorial rooms were built at the site of the shack where Chairman Mao rested in the field. In 1970, the three rooms were rebuilt into five rooms and named the "Great Leader Chairman Mao Memorial Hall." In 1993, on the 100th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, the memorial hall was rebuilt on the original site, and the name "Chairman Mao Memorial Hall" was inscribed by Qiao Shi, the former chairman of the National People's Congress. The memorial hall is now a national 2A-level tourist attraction. In December 2005, it was designated as a "Patriotic Education Base of Baoding City" by the Baoding Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Baoding Municipal People's Government. In August 2022, it was rated as a "Youth Education Base of Baoding City" by the Baoding Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League.
