Bangkok: Take a break in a hidden oasis16/12/2024

GalileOasis This is an interesting place I stumbled upon. The Galile Oasis art community is hidden in a small alley near MBK shopping center. It is famous for its retro wooden decorations and green plants, and has a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The community was renovated by six local artists with the aim of preserving historical traces while creating a comprehensive community that integrates cafes, restaurants, galleries, clothing stores and B&Bs. The café Piccolo Vicolo Café on the first floor is well-known in Bangkok's coffee circle. In addition to providing traditional Italian coffee, it also incorporates many Thai and Southeast Asian specialty drinks, such as coconut and fruit specialties, as well as beer and cakes. My personal favorite is the Piccolo milkshake. It's made with pure milk and light cream as the base, and a single serving of espresso on top. The aroma of pure milk, the sweetness of cream and the thick, pure caramelized aroma of Italian espresso are skillfully blended to perfection. Sitting under the shadow of the huge trees, the wind climbed around the branches, and the sunlight jumped down from the gaps and landed on my shoulders like a bird. There are some small art exhibitions in galleries and art museums. Young painters and the expression of popular primers. Relaxed and lively. Several small shops sell items with a strong literary and artistic atmosphere. The price will be slightly higher than other places. If you find something you like, it is still within an acceptable range. The hotel's decoration is mainly simple. The partitions are a bit thin and there is an old residential community next door, so during rush hour and when the children are on vacation, there is the noise of an old community. The floor is still old and makes a squeaking sound when you walk on it. Environmentally friendly hotel, no toiletries provided, occasional water outages. Um! It might be really troublesome. The designer's original intention was to create an oasis during the journey so that travelers can take a temporary rest. However, I visit them from time to time because of their fixed-time exhibitions, literary and artistic activities, and the occasional literary and artistic films. The rest you get from here is more spiritual than physical. Pick a weekday afternoon and play Jin Yucheng's "Fanghua". Sitting under the huge banyan tree, watching the Chinese characters dancing in time, what I hear in my ears is the soft sound of Sawadee Kah. It's also indescribably interesting. It's nice to take a break in this oasis occasionally.
