Visit the Maha Udom Temple from the reign of King Rama II at Wat Si Chin

🏡 Wat Chaturamit Pradittharam was built in 1822 during the reign of King Rama II. It was originally called Wat Si Chin because it was built by four Chinese brothers. However, some documents refer to it as Wat Sam Chin. The temple was granted Wisungkhamsima in 1827 and was renamed Wat Chaturamit Pradittharam in 1939. The important and interesting features within the temple include: 🏠 The Ubosot (ordination hall) with a Chinese-style design. It is a Maha Udom temple, meaning it has only a front door and no back door. The gable is sculpted with a bat, which is considered an auspicious animal by the Chinese, symbolizing happiness. The boundary markers are attached to the walls of the Ubosot. The doors and windows are intricately carved with dragon patterns, painted red, and gilded.
