| Shenquanxia Scenic Area. There is a very interesting hiking route hidden in a little-known scenic spot on the outskirts of Beijing. The route passes through canyons, streams, forests, and museums. The entire route is covered with greenery and is full of wild fun. The hiking trail is quite hidden. I only discovered it when I visited the scenic spot for the second time. The first time I visited the scenic spot was in winter and I didn’t notice there was a hiking trail. Located in Shenquan Gorge in Mentougou, Beijing, 40 kilometers outside Beijing, drive through Mentougou District and take a winding mountain road. Arrive at the ticket office of the scenic spot and continue driving about 3 kilometers. The parking lot is at the starting point of the hiking route. As shown in Figure 9, there are three hiking routes: 7 km, 10 km, and 20 km. We took the smallest circle, passing through canyons, streams, forests, and museums along the way. The entire route was covered with green shade, the stream water was clear, and we occasionally encountered frogs, small fish, butterflies, and small lizards, which was full of wild fun. Small loop: parking lot - suspension bridge - canyon - turn right at a pavilion and head towards the racecourse - Shenquan - Wangxiang Pavilion - museum - suspension bridge - parking lot. The road signs along the way are not very clear, so just identify the general direction and follow the path that is accessible. The stone steps in the canyon were a bit slippery. There were no shops along the way. The scenery was too wild and there was no one. I once suspected that I had walked out of the scenic area unknowingly, but then I saw the signposts for the scenic area and found out... Tickets are 36 yuan for adults, parking is free, and there are ice waterfalls here in winter.
