Beijing Chaoyang Park (formerly known as Shuizhuizi Park) is located at No. 1 Chaoyang Park South Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China. It is a comprehensive, multi-functional large-scale cultural, recreational, and entertainment park with a focus on landscaping. It is also the largest urban park within the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing. It is about 2.8 km long from north to south and about 1.5 km wide from east to west, with a planned total area of 288.7 hectares, including 68.2 hectares of water surface and 87% of green space. Beijing Chaoyang Park was built in November 1984. Since 2000, it has been listed as a key project in Chaoyang District by the district government. Through the vigorous promotion of demolition and construction, the park has completed the relocation of more than 3,900 residents and more than 40 enterprises within the planned land area of the park, as well as the development and construction of 130 hectares of planned land in the north, and was fully opened to the public in September 2004. In 2009, a beach-themed park was built. Beijing Chaoyang Park has built more than 30 scenic spots, such as the Central Leaders' Plantation, the Source of Life, the Art Square, the Wolong Waterfall, and the Spring Garden; it has built the Brave World Amusement Park, the Tennis Center, the Badminton Hall, and sports, cultural, and entertainment projects such as Sony Dreamland and Lego Town. Beijing Chaoyang Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. In July 2006, it was awarded the "Chaoyang Park International Cultural Exhibition and Performance Gathering Area" by Chaoyang District, forming three international fashion and cultural brand activities: "Spring Festival Chaoyang International Festival," "Ocean Beach Carnival," and "October Chaoyang International Tourism and Culture Festival." The "Ocean Beach Carnival" was rated as an excellent cultural activity in Beijing. The FIVB World Beach Volleyball Grand Slam Beijing event has been held for five consecutive years at the main beach volleyball venue in Beijing Chaoyang Park, and the beach volleyball competition of the 29th Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 was successfully held in Beijing Chaoyang Park.
