Bonn Cherry Blossom Avenue 2025

Every April, I go to the cherry blossom avenue in Bonn's old town to take photos. 📍Breite Straße (Breite Street) Breite Straße is an "internet-famous cherry blossom avenue" on various social media platforms. This cobblestone path stretches for hundreds of meters on the edge of Altstadt (Old Town) in the Nordstadt district. 📍Heerstraße, which runs almost parallel to Breite Straße, is also a "cherry blossom-covered street," filled with ancient statues and flanked by pink houses. 📝The cherry blossoms here are late-blooming varieties, usually flowering in April. I'll go check it out as soon as I get back to Germany. The cherry trees in Bonn were planted in the 1980s as part of a comprehensive urban reconstruction project. Before that, the old town was a dated artisan district characterized by heavy traffic and drab facades. The planting of cherry trees has revitalized the area and unexpectedly brought fame to Bonn.
