The decline and rebirth of Puerto Madero

There are many fashionable skyscrapers and top-level apartments along the river. In the evening, the reflections in the water and the sunset glow add to the romance of Puerto Madero. There are many bars and nightclubs, which become more lively as the night goes on. There are often dancers at the pier square, immersed in tango music. The riverfront now features a wide, tree-lined promenade with views of luxury apartments, renovated red-brick warehouses and yachts floating on the river. Take a stroll to Pier No. 3 to admire the Women's Bridge. Puente de la Mujer is an elegant suspension bridge that crosses the pier. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the bridge depicts a couple dancing tango. If you have time, you can also board the oldest Argentine naval ship, the ARA Uruguay, and visit the captain's room and shipwreck artifacts.
