The Baodun Site Exhibition Hall is located on the flat and fertile fields of Baodun Village in Xinjin District, detailing the development and construction history of the ancient city of Baodun, and showcasing the developmental trajectory of the earliest ancient city on the Chengdu Plain. As the ancient Shu people descended from the plateau and first entered the Chengdu Plain, they chose to build the ancient city in the transitional area from high ground to low-lying areas, reflecting the ancestors' site selection concept of both utilizing and avoiding water. Here, one can immerse themselves in the exhibition of pottery, as if traveling through a thousand years, folding time and space to converse with ancestors, and exploring the origins of the ancient Shu civilization. Underground, buried for 4500 years, are pottery and stone tools, ivory staffs, carbonized rice... telling the story of the Baodun culture period of the ancient Shu civilization's childhood, when the ancient Shu ancestors ventured deep into the Chengdu Plain, engaging in a historical struggle with water. Among the exhibits is the 'First Stove of the Chengdu Plain,' which was unearthed at the Baodun ancient city site. The stove has a straight barrel shape, is decorated with coarse rope patterns, has seven supports approximately 7 centimeters long evenly distributed on the inner wall, and has a semi-circular stove door on one side. It is 28 centimeters high and 30 centimeters in diameter. The Baodun ancestors used the pottery stove to elevate and cook food, making it the oldest stove discovered on the Chengdu Plain. The first exhibition hall 'Discovering Baodun' details the work history of three generations of archaeologists at the Baodun site since the 1980s and the confirmation process of Baodun culture. The first thing that appears in the second exhibition hall is a huge ebony log unearthed from the Baodun site. It lies there quietly, telling people about the early natural environment of the Chengdu Plain with crisscrossing water flows. The colorful paintings on the wall behind the ebony depict the ecological environment of lush vegetation and thriving life during the Baodun period more vividly to the audience.
