The AC Hotel in Chengdu was a bit disappointing

This isn’t a post to discourage anyone—guests who value hotel design or fans here for games might still find it worth a try. I just want to share my subjective consumer perspective on what made my stay at this Chengdu AC Hotel uncomfortable. 🔸 First, the service: The front desk staff were flawless—professional, smiling, and even upgraded my room and offered breakfast. However, the robot delivery service was inefficient. With many rooms and high demand, waiting in line was almost inevitable at any time, and I often had to go downstairs to fetch items myself. Second, the gym at 7 a.m. was a mess—used towels and disposable cups (which seemed to clash with the hotel’s eco-friendly ethos...) were scattered everywhere, even on the floor. Some equipment wasn’t put back, and there was no air conditioning. (The gym photo was taken after I tidied up a bit myself.) 🔸 Now, the room: The lighting design and furniture quality were high-end and cozy, with a JBL sound system and a modern, lightly luxurious vibe—a truly relaxing space. But many amenities didn’t match this upscale tone. The disposable toiletries, hairdryer, and bottled water felt like budget hotel standards—unattractive and impractical. The soap was slippery, the slippers were thin and prone to slipping, the water temperature was hard to adjust, and the combination of two floor towels and one bath towel was... a first. 🔸 As for breakfast: Some dishes ran out, and the noodle station had only two options—my bowl was undersalted. Moments like these made me miss the satisfying breakfast I once had at a newly opened Home Inn. 🟡️🔸 Staying at a hotel isn’t just about sleeping in a bed anymore. In an era where brands compete over "five-sense" experiences, even one weak link is noticeable to guests—let alone a hotel with so many rough edges. How can such a place grow its business, retain customers, or expand? Again, this reflects just my one-night experience and doesn’t represent the hotel’s usual standards. But these issues do exist objectively. Consider them based on your needs, and I hope the hotel takes note and improves. Here’s to better days ahead 🌹
