I stumbled upon this amazing hotel during the Qingming Festival holiday! My work-weary soul was completely rejuvenated in the mountain valley of Chibi! I can still recall the moment I pushed open the wooden door, the rustling of bamboo leaves and the faint scent of agarwood filled the air, and the moss on the stone steps shimmered in the after-rain glow... The hotel is hidden in Jigongshan Village, Chebu Town, Chibi. It's only a 1.5-hour drive from Wuhan. The white-walled and black-tiled Jiangnan garden style, combined with small bridges, flowing water, and wooden houses halfway up the mountain, is like stepping into a traditional Chinese painting. The rooms are minimalist yet stylish, perfect for taking photos. The most surprising thing was that when we arrived at the hotel, we experienced their exclusive intangible cultural heritage—an incense ceremony welcome! It was fascinating to learn about Tongmai Yuanxiang, make incense seals and hammers, and share the experience with friends from all over the world. We heard many interesting stories, and we even got to take home the incense we made as a unique souvenir. 😄 Besides that, there are many other interesting hotel activities, such as tea tasting, sutra copying, and yoga. We also experienced a singing bowl healing concert! The teacher struck the singing bowls, and the deep humming sound spread like ripples. I was able to briefly put aside the worries that usually linger in my mind, as if all the accumulated anxiety was being released through the sound waves. (I rarely sleep so soundly, hahaha.) This unexpected journey allowed me to find the "slow pace" that urbanites crave in the depths of the bamboo forest.
