Winter Charm of Xiqiao Mountain: A Dream of a Warm Winter in Lingnan When the cold north wind plays the prelude to the end of the year, I set off for Xiqiao Mountain in Foshan City with the hope of warmth and tranquility, as if I were going to meet the winter in Lingnan. As I first entered Xiqiao Mountain, the lush greenery greeted me. The frost of winter did not diminish the vitality of the mountain. The ancient pines and cypresses stood tall and proud, and the interlaced branches and leaves filtered the sunlight, casting golden rays on the winding mountain paths, like a magnificent golden brocade. The clear springs in the mountains collided with the stones, creating a clear and spiritual sound, like a wonderful tune played by nature, adding a lively interest to the tranquility of the mountains and forests, awakening the sleeping mountains and forests, and also awakening my love for the beauty of nature. Following the stone path, I arrived at the famous Nanhai Guanyin Cultural Garden. The 61.9-meter-high statue of Guanyin, with a kind and benevolent face, solemnly gazed at the world. Under the clear and cold sky, the sacred feeling of the statue became even stronger, and the golden halo around it was dazzling, making the viewers feel awe and reverence. The surrounding temples and pavilions were exquisitely carved, with flying eaves like the tails of swallows, and the red walls and yellow tiles were complemented by green trees, exuding an ancient and elegant charm. The pilgrims came and went, all holding incense sticks and praying silently, and the smoke lingered in the air, spreading a sense of peace and tranquility, as if it had the power to soothe people's hearts and calm their souls. Walking up from the Guanyin Cultural Garden, the highest peak of Xiqiao Mountain, Dake Peak, was right in front of me. Standing on the top and looking into the distance, the mountains stretched endlessly, like the waves of the sea rushing to the horizon, and the magnificent scenery was all under my feet. The distant city appeared and disappeared in the mist, like a landscape painting with light ink, poetic and hazy. The mountain wind blew fiercely, carrying the unique freshness and chill of the mountains and forests, making me feel cold, but also sweeping away the troubles and fatigue in my heart, making me feel open-minded and full of ambition, as if I were one with the mountains and rivers. The winter of Xiqiao Mountain, though without the snow of the north, has its own warm and beautiful charm. Every plant, every stone, and every scene here is like a masterpiece of nature, quietly settling in the long years, silently telling the stories of the past. It is like a beautiful woman living in seclusion, with her quiet and gentle beauty, nourishing every heart that is busy in the world, making people immersed in it, unable to let go, only wishing that time would stop and accompany this gentle landscape forever.
