NATIONAL HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Are you like me? Having studied and lived in Hanoi for nearly a decade, every time someone asks: What is there to do in Hanoi? I am bewildered, mumble, and then list a few popular names that anyone who has never set foot in the capital must have heard of more than once: Hoan Kiem Lake; Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum; Temple of Literature or Dong Xuan Market... Young people probably have a few more beautiful cafes and delicious places to eat in their heads and then freely take virtual photos. Although I know that love for a land sometimes just needs a few memories that repeat according to the seasons, the smells, and the months and years. But it would be a shame for Hanoi to still take refuge, rely on, and grow up here every day without being able to understand a little more about the poet who is more than a thousand years old. And then, we decided to take some trips. Not far away, not expensive. Trips that are close but deep to love, understand, connect and be proud of the city - the red heart of the Fatherland. #REVIEW: 𝐁𝐀̉𝐎 𝐓𝐀̀𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐈̣𝐂𝐇 𝐒𝐔̛̉ 𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐒𝐔̂́𝐂 𝐆𝐈𝐀 🍂 SOME FEATURES ABOUT THE MUSEUM The predecessor is the Vietnam History Museum on the basis of inheriting from the Louis Finot Museum, the National History Museum is a place to display, store and preserve about 200,000 artifacts and documents of Vietnamese history and culture. This place also preserves artifacts of archaeological cultures from the early Paleolithic period, masterpieces of famous cultures such as Dong Son Culture, Champa Stone Sculpture... In addition, this museum also owns more than 80,000 valuable documents and artifacts about the history of the nation's struggle for independence. 🍂 LOCATION The museum currently has two addresses: - Facility 1: No. 1 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Here, prehistoric artifacts are displayed until the end of the Nguyen Dynasty in 1945 - Facility 2: No. 216 Tran Quang Khai, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. This place has been concentrated from the mid-19th century to the present day. However, currently facility 2 is under renovation, so visitors are only welcomed at facility 1 in Trang Tien. 🍂 OPENING TIME All days of the week, except Monday (According to an article I read, it is closed on Monday to save operating costs 😞 ) - Morning: From 8:00 to 12:00 - Afternoon: From 1:30 to 5:00 🍂 TICKET PRICE - Adults: 40,000 VND/person - Students: 20,000 VND/person - Pupils: 10,000 VND/person - Children under 6 years old and people with severe disabilities: Free - Parking fee: 5,000 VND/vehicle 🍂 SOME PERSONAL FEELINGS * Plus points: - The first impression when coming here is that the museum is extremely large, a characteristic yellow color covers all the paintings wall, as if we were in a temple somewhere. However, the exhibition area is only in one building, the rest is the administrative area. - "Oh my god! So beautiful" - we kept chattering and gaping at each other when we went through each display room. It was a sacred and extremely admiring feeling when we could admire each remaining relic that was being cherished and preserved. The artifacts were very diverse, rich, imbued with the image of our ancestors, national culture and love for our homeland.
