Phra Phothisat Kuan Im Nakhon Quan Yin Temple

Naturally, you will expect to find Buddhist temples wherever you are in Thailand, and Hat Yai is no exception. Phra Phothisat Kuan Im Nakhon or also known as the Quan Yin Temple and the 20 metres high white jade statue of Kuan Yin, Goddess of Compassion & Mercy is located on top of a hill at Hat Yai Municipal Park. A huge Dragon mouth's entrance makes a warm welcome to the temple. There are hundreds of miniatures of Kuan Yin's statues in the main pavilion together with Eight Immortals statues & other Deities. At that hilltop, there is a huge statue of Kuan Gong, Jade Emperor, the fat laughing buddha "Budai" and Kuan Yin's statues with the 12 Zodiac Animals. When you leave Hatyai Cable Car and go down to the main road, you will pass by the temple. You can see the huge Goddess of Mercy statue. It’s so stunning and breathtaking. There are many Buddhists from Malaysia and Singapore praying here and contributing to this temple.
