The 'Nordic Comfort' afternoon tea set includes four savory and four sweet items, along with English scones, all presented in a forest-like arrangement that feels very atmospheric. The afternoon tea comes with a selection of coffee or Finnish specialty teas! For those like me who are always thirsty, you can add a special drink for an extra charge. The Mocktail Lingonberry Blossom, priced at $68, is made with cranberry juice, elderflower syrup, soda water, and lingonberries, offering a sweet and fragrant floral and fruity taste. For cocktails, there's the Green Fairy, priced at $98, made with gin, aquavit, lime juice, apple juice, and cucumber. The fresh herbal aroma combined with the crisp fruit and vegetable flavors is very appealing. The four savory items are themed around forests, lakes, and fjords! Representing the water are seared trout and grilled Hokkaido scallops, while the forest is represented by chanterelle mushroom terrine and roasted venison. These water and land delicacies are visually enticing and make my mouth water. First, savor the fresh taste of the sea! The grilled Hokkaido scallops are charred on the outside and tender on the inside, paired with sweet golden beets and bursting olive oil pearls for a delightful texture. The seared trout is rich and flavorful, complemented by sour cream sauce, salmon roe, mustard seeds, and olive oil, offering a fragrant and not greasy taste. Nordic trout is truly exceptional. The chanterelle mushroom terrine is seasoned with black truffle sauce, offering a gelatinous and refreshing texture, topped with seasonal mushrooms for a rich and matching flavor. Finally, the roasted venison is also very tasty! The tender venison is flavorful without any gaminess, paired with sweet honey mustard sauce and crispy crackers, instantly elevating the taste. It's finally time for desserts, and the four sweet items are ready. Before enjoying the desserts, you must first taste the scones! The freshly baked English cranberry scones are generously sized, and spreading them with delicious queen's jam and clotted cream is already very satisfying. This delicate piece is a cheesecake! Inside, there's apricot jam, offering a delightful surprise when eaten. The pumpkin carrot cake is topped with cream cheese and pistachio crumbs, with a moist cake filled with nuts, walnuts, and raisins, offering a rich texture without being overly sweet. Lastly, the lingonberry dark chocolate panna cotta is perfect for my taste. The tangy lingonberry sauce and sweet chocolate panna cotta are a perfect match, topped with chocolate crumbs for added texture, making it truly wonderful. The Swedish apple crumble cone with cinnamon aroma is a treat I gave to Dad to enjoy.
