Autumn Tour to Ngong Ping

The clear and crisp days in autumn are perfect for outdoor activities, so I took advantage of the sunny days and booked a package of Ngong Ping Cable Car and meal coupons on trip.com to go hiking, sunbathe and breathe fresh air. This time we are going to the Maitreya Mountain Hiking Trail, which is about 5 kilometers long and goes around the hillside of Maitreya Mountain. Here's a little suggestion: if there aren't many people going to Ngong Ping, you can choose the Ordinary carriage first, and then you can reduce the waiting time on the return journey. Taking the cable car to Ngong Ping takes much less time than taking the bus. And because it is a weekday and due to the epidemic, two people can occupy the entire cable car. Coupled with the beautiful scenery along the way, the cost-effectiveness is super high! As soon as we stepped out of the cable car, we were at Ngong Ping Village. We exchanged our meal coupons for two meals, but the portions were too big to finish. The only drawback was that some of the food and beverage options were not available, which disrupted our plans a bit. After eating, walk along the market path towards the Tian Tan Buddha and continue checking in along the way. There are not many signposts for the Maitreya Mountain Trail. If you want to find it, you can look for the signposts for "Ngong Ping DAVI Youth Hostel" or "Heart Sutra Forest", as both of these places can lead to the entrance of the trail. When you come to Ngong Ping, you can of course also stop by to see the Big Buddha and the Heart Sutra Forest. After visiting the Heart Sutra Forest, walk straight across the entrance and you will find the entrance to the hiking trail. On the right hand side of the Heart Sutra Forest is the route to Phoenix Mountain. Don’t take the wrong path, as the difficulty of the two paths is very different. The difficulty of the Maitreya Mountain Country Trail is suitable for beginners, but there are many beautiful views and it only takes about 2 hours to complete. If you only have half a day, you can consider this trail. But remember to plan your return trip in advance. The last cable car is at 6 pm.
