Dai King's Palace & Manting Royal Garden

The Dai King's Palace and Manting Royal Garden are located within Manting Park in Jinghong. Manting Park is the oldest park in Xishuangbanna, with a history of over 1,300 years. It was once the royal garden of the Dai kings of Xishuangbanna, a place where feudal lords, Zhao Pian Ling (Dai kings), and chieftains enjoyed leisurely strolls and admired the flowers. The Dai King's Palace is a five-story wooden structure with strong Dai characteristics, boasting an elegant and magnificent style. South of the Dai King's Palace is the Manting Royal Garden. The garden consists of the Lotus Pond, the Ironwood Forest, the Leaf Garden, and the Royal Orchid Garden. Even though I visited at the end of December, the flowers and foliage were still lush, the birds were singing, and the flowers were fragrant—a truly beautiful sight. The white pagoda in Manting Park is a replica of the Manfeilong White Pagoda. As the original Manfeilong White Pagoda is far from Jinghong, this replica was built in the park and has become a popular photo spot.
