The sacred mountain of the Caucasus people - Mount Kazbek

Mount Kazbek is the dividing line between South Ossetia and North Ossetia, with snow-capped peaks reaching more than 5,000 meters. This hilltop church is located on the top of a mountain at 2,700 meters. The Holy Trinity Church of Mount Kazbek, originally named Gegeti Church, was built in the 14th century. It is located in the center of Mount Kazbek at an altitude of 2,170 meters. It is known as "the Orthodox church closest to God." Military Avenue is the main road to Kazbek, an ancient route from Tbilisi to North Ossetia, Russia. The total length of the highway is 212 kilometers. It was ordered by Tsar Alexander I in 1801 to facilitate the passage of troops between the two countries. It is a man-made tunnel regardless of cost and is designed for all-weather traffic. Mount Kazbek is one of the highest peaks in the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia. The scenery here is very beautiful!
