“Tugu Negara: A Monument of Heroes and History in Malaysia”

Located within the Lake Gardens (Perdana Botanical Gardens), Tugu Negara is surrounded by a peaceful, well-maintained park. Nearby, the Cenotaph, an older memorial from the British colonial era, also pays tribute to fallen soldiers. Unveiled in 1966 by Malaysia’s first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the monument serves as a significant site for national remembrance, with annual ceremonies held on Warriors’ Day (Hari Pahlawan) to honor Malaysia’s military heroes.
