Borneo Cultures Museum

The Borneo Cultures Museum, located in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, is the largest museum in Malaysia and one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Opened in March 2022, this five-story museum celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Borneo, with a focus on the indigenous communities and natural biodiversity of Sarawak. The museum’s design incorporates traditional Bornean architectural elements with a modern touch. Its exhibits are organized across multiple floors, covering themes like archaeology, history, cultural anthropology, and natural history. The galleries highlight artifacts from various indigenous groups in Borneo, such as the Iban, Bidayuh, and Orang Ulu, showcasing items like traditional crafts, musical instruments, and ceremonial attire. Interactive exhibits, multimedia displays, and sensory experiences are integrated into the museum, making it engaging for visitors of all ages. There’s also a children’s gallery that offers educational activities, aiming to make learning about Bornean culture accessible and fun.
