Today I'm going to share with you a great place in Kunming city - 'Seagull Dam', where is an excellent place to feed seagulls, absolutely not to be missed! ------- Tips ------- 🔸 Essential for feeding seagulls: bread. But be aware that seagulls have taste, don't give them too old bread, it's best to choose banana-shaped soft bread, they prefer a little moist taste; 🔸 Prepare bread in advance, there are places to feed from Kunming to Dali all the way, but the price is not cheap; 🔸 The staff will regularly take a speedboat to feed the seagulls, thousands of seagulls chasing the speedboat, it's definitely a spectacular scene; 🔸 Wear glasses when feeding seagulls, beware of seagulls' 'accidents'; 🔸 The queue time for the toilet is longer during peak periods; 🔸 Don't catch seagulls with your hands. ------- Transportation ------- Take the subway line 5 and get off at 'Dam Station'. There is a distance from the subway station to Seagull Dam, there are two recommended ways: ① Walk along Yinghai Road, or ride a shared bicycle, you can arrive in 5~10 minutes. There are also many shared electric bikes in Kunming, very convenient! ② Take bus 171 and get off at 'Haigeng Long Dam' station. ------- Time ------- 🔸 Red-billed gulls overwinter in Dianchi Lake from November to March of the following year, and the number gradually decreases after March; 🔸 For better shooting effects and fewer crowds, it is recommended to come before 8 am. ------- Surroundings ------- 🔸 At the end of Seagull Dam is the starting point of 'West Mountain Cableway', you can choose to climb West Mountain, but be careful, couples😀. 🔸 Next to the West Mountain Cableway is 'Haigeng Wetland Park', which is very lively, and there is also an amusement park and various snacks. Here you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset of West Mountain. 🔸 Walk about 3km along Dianchi Lake from Haigeng Wetland Park to reach 'Haihong Wetland Park' (see the last 4 pictures), where there is a beautiful water fir forest, you can rent a transparent boat to row in the forest, 90💰/hour, need some deposit, but be careful not to overtime; 🔸 The water fir forest is suitable for shooting reflections, the shadow of the water fir swaying in the water waves, plus the algae in the water, it has a unique view. 📌 Many people only regard Kunming as a transit station for Yunnan tourism, but the red-billed gulls of 'Seagull Dam' and the sea of flowers in 'Dounan' have left me the deepest impression.
