Yasaka-jinja Shrine is a popular landmark which you should visit if you are in Kyoto. This place is not located in down town, however It can be reached easily by taxi or public transport. The recommended sightseeing time is half an hour or maximum one hour. This place has a beautiful classic and colourful façade worth of being admired and photographed. I strongly recommend to visit this place during the day and during the night time, In a dark environment you get to enjoy the many lanterns that illuminate the shrine.
