Jincheng! Xixi Erxian Temple! ! .

Since ancient times, there has been a small river flowing to the west of Chengguan Town in the county seat. It is called Xixi and flows westward along a valley about one mile wide. The water flow is not strong, but the sound of flowing water can be heard throughout the valley. The Xixi Erxian Temple is located in this valley. Due to the charming scenery of Xixi, many literati and poets of all ages have left many works praising it. Yuan Haowen visited the Erxian Temple in Xixi many times. When he was 14 years old, he wrote a seven-character quatrain for the temple: "I come here again and again in the past few years, the green mountains are intact and the painting screen is open. I still go out on the yellow dusty road, and the golden-clad people cry and cannot be called back." This poem was engraved on a stone tablet with the inscription "May of the fourth year of Yanyou in the Yuan Dynasty (1318 AD)", which is a trace of his "visit" and a mark of his love for the Erxian Temple. In addition, he also wrote: "The pine forest reflects the Ling Temple, and the gravel flows golden without knowing the heat. The Taiping wanderer came from the Jiangbei area, and was surprised that he built an immortal palace in the coolness. Less than forty years have passed in Xixi, and the light of the stream and the shadows of the forest are still there. Suddenly I saw the painting and thought it was a dream, but now the dust has washed off my head." Such poems are used to express his praise and attachment to Xixi. ✅Key points: 1. Twenty-seven inscriptions It records that the Erxian Temple was first built in the Qianyuan period of the Tang Dynasty (758-759), and was renamed Zhenze Palace during the Chongning period of the Song Dynasty (1102-1106), as well as its repairs and expansions throughout the dynasties, as well as the praises left here by literati and poets. 2. Architecture 1) East and West Dressing Buildings (representative buildings of Erxian Temple) It was first built in the second year of Huangtong in the Jin Dynasty (1142) and is located on the east and west sides of the rear hall and the middle hall. They are all two-story, three-eaved, hip-and-gable roof pavilion-style buildings. The east dressing room is three rooms wide and three rooms deep, with secondary steps around it and a square plan. There are corridors between the upper and lower floors. There is a flat platform under the upper corridor, and railings are set between the eaves columns. The twined column structure and the forked column structure are integrated into one. The structure is unique and has the characteristics of early architecture. The overall structure of the Dressing Building, except for the corridors and rafters which underwent major changes during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the other structures still retain the style of the Jin Dynasty. It is a precious physical material for studying the pavilion architecture of the Jin Dynasty in southeastern Shanxi! At the same time, the layout of replacing the Buddha Pavilion with a dressing building is also a clever idea. The pavilions used for worshipping Buddha and Bodhisattva in official Buddhist and Taoist buildings are integrated into the worship of the two immortals, while also reflecting the spirit of the unity of man and nature. 2) Mountain Gate Tower Located at the south end of the temple, it has two floors. The lower floor is the mountain gate, which is the main entrance to the temple. It is three bays wide and two bays deep. There is a board door between the central pillars. The second bay is separated by a brick wall. The upper floor is the theater building, which is three bays wide and has a single-eaved hip roof. 3) Yemen Tower It is located on the east and west sides of the mountain gate building and is arranged in a straight line with the mountain gate. It is three rooms wide and one room deep. There is a plank door in the middle. The upper floor is the back room of the theater building. The beam frame is a five-beam eaves with two columns, and the roof is single-eaved and hardy. 4) Front Hall Located to the north of the mountain gate building is one of the main buildings on the axis. It has three rooms on one side and six frames deep. There is a lattice door on the front eaves of the hall, with six doors in the main room and four doors in the secondary room. There are double-copy and five-panel 45-degree inclined arches around the eaves, and a single-eaved five-ridge roof. 5) The rear hall The front porch is three bays wide and six rafters deep. It has a single eaves and two buildings at the ends. There are five double-down brackets around the eaves. There are lattice doors between the front eaves columns. There are six doors in the main room and four doors in the secondary room.
