Narai Ratchaniwet Museum, Lopburi

Narai Ratchaniwet Palace is a palace that King Narai the Great ordered to be built in Lopburi around 2208-2209. Narai Ratchaniwet Palace covers an area of ​​approximately 43 rai and was designed by a French engineer. The architectural style is a mixture of Thai and Western styles. King Narai liked to reside in Lopburi almost all year round, except during the rainy season when he moved to reside in Ayutthaya. Lopburi was therefore the center of prosperity throughout King Narai's reign. When King Narai the Great passed away in 2231, the palace was abandoned until the Rattanakosin period. King Mongkut (Rama IV) ordered the repair of King Narai the Great's original palace in 2399. He ordered the construction of additional throne halls and named the palace "Phra Narai Ratchaniwet".
