Yesterday, I made a special trip from Jiujiang Station to Donglin Temple at the southwest foot of Mount Lu. This temple was founded during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and is the ancestral home of the Pure Land sect of Buddhism. With a history of over 1000 years, it has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. Due to the damage it suffered during the calamitous periods, the main buildings we see today were reconstructed after 1978.
