Macau Handover Gifts Museum

The venue was originally the site of the Macau sovereignty handover ceremony between the Chinese and Portuguese governments on December 20, 1999. After the venue was dismantled, it became part of the Macau Cultural Centre Square. Construction of the Macau Handover Gifts Museum began at the original location in March 2003. The purpose of the museum is to commemorate the momentous occasion of Macau's return to the motherland. Its opening coincided with the fifth anniversary of Macau's return, which is of great significance.
