Yuushien Garden

Yuushien Garden is a Japanese garden located on Daikon Island in Yatsuka-cho, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. The construction of this garden began in 1970, and it has now become a pond and hill garden style Japanese garden of about 12,000 tsubo (40,000 square meters). Yuushien is known as a miniature garden of the Izumo region, featuring landscapes such as the Oni no Shitaburui in Oku-Izumo, the rich flow of the Hii River, the surface of Lake Shinji, and the reefs and reflections of Mount Daisen in Nakaumi. In this beautiful garden, you can enjoy a variety of flowers throughout the seasons. Here are some of the flowers you can see at Yuushien Garden: Peonies: There is a pond with 30,000 peonies blooming across the vast water surface. Early-blooming varieties such as 'Shimanishiki' and 'Yoshinori' herald the spring. Paeonia lactiflora: White, pink, and purple flowers show their refreshing beauty during the rainy season. Hydrangeas: Along the cobblestone paths, blue, purple, and pink flowers bloom against the green leaves. Autumn leaves: In autumn, the garden is lit up at night, creating a fantastical world. You can also enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery from the Momiji Bridge and the Red Bridge. Winter peonies: Winter peonies, which have been modified to bloom in winter, flower amidst the snow.
