Shantou·Nan'ao Island | Take another look at the clear sea

Because of the movie 'The Four Seas', I personally came to this small island. Surrounded by the vast sea on all sides, this island boasts endless ocean views and rolling mountains. You can experience the vastness of the sea, the tranquility of the town, the simplicity of the local customs, and the unique fishing village culture. Nan'ao Island is a relatively mature tourist area, but it also has a life that belongs to the locals themselves, where you can still feel the local customs and culture. 🕰️ Best Time to Travel: I traveled in early January 2024, which is the off-season for Nan'ao Island, so there were fewer people. As the weather warms up, the number of tourists will increase. 👔 Dressing Suggestions: As the climate warms up in March, you can wear a long-sleeved shirt and add a coat in the morning and evening. ☁️ Weather Advice: Always choose a sunny day for island trips, otherwise the scenery will be very different from what you see online. Check the weather forecast in advance. 🚄 Transportation: Train + Bus + Electric Scooter (suitable for students) 1️⃣ Bus🚌: Take bus 161A/B to the island (costs 15 yuan). If you're heading straight to Nan'ao Island, taking the bus from Shantou Station is also very convenient. 2️⃣ Electric Scooter🛵: Renting an electric scooter for a round-island tour is also a great choice (cost varies by hour or day, cheaper in the off-season. Make sure to ask about battery replacement times, have the shop's phone number in case you run out of power and don't know who to contact). For college students, the recommended travel mode is still: Bus🚌 + Electric Scooter🛵 (If you can drive, have mountain road experience, and have sufficient budget and time, you can also rent a car or hire a private tour.) 🗺️ Itinerary Strategy: I personally recommend the pure electric scooter tour route, with a planned trip of two days and one night❗️❗️❗️ (which is actually just a full day trip) Day1⃣️: Arrive at Shantou Station in the morning, have lunch in Shantou city (I will provide a separate guide if needed), and then reach Nan'ao Island in the afternoon. After checking into your accommodation, head to Tianyu Mountain Villa in the evening to see the road leading to the sea, and watch the sunset nearby. The recommended sunset spot is on the beach of Houzhai Town (locate Xingfa Seafood Restaurant). Spend the evening strolling around Houzhai Town and tasting the local seafood. Day2⃣️: If you want to watch the sunrise, get up early and head to Sanchuangya Lighthouse, about half an hour's ride away. This marks the first attraction, followed by the Nan'ao Marine Meteorological Comprehensive Detection Base, and then ride to the third attraction, Qing'ao Bay (go early to see fishermen going out to sea). Then return to Houzhai Town to visit Changshanwei Lighthouse, Qian'ao Bay Lighthouse, and Qian'ao Bay Resort (this area is very similar to one of the attractions in Dalian's Sea Rhyme Park).
