Wuyuan County, under the jurisdiction of Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northeastern part of Jiangxi Province. Wuyuan County is situated in the mid-subtropical zone, featuring the characteristics of the East Asian monsoon region, with a mild climate, abundant rainfall, a short frost period, and distinct seasons. Wuyuan County was established in the 28th year of the Kaiyuan era of the Tang Dynasty (740 AD), historically belonging to Huizhou Prefecture. In 1949, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Shangrao, Jiangxi. The county is accessible via the Jing-Wu-Yuan-Huang and Jing-Wu-Yuan-Chang expressways, with the Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed railway running north to south, and the Jiujiang-Jingdezhen-Quzhou railway crossing from east to west. It is a national-level cultural and ecological protection area, and has received several honors, including China's Strong Tourism County, National Tourism Standardization Demonstration County, National Rural Tourism Resort Experimental Area, China's Excellent International Rural Tourism Destination, and one of the first National All-for-One Tourism Demonstration Areas. Wuyuan County as a whole has been rated as a national 3A-level tourist attraction under the name 'Wuyuan Cultural and Ecological Tourism Area', featuring scenic spots such as Jiangwan Scenic Area, Dazhangshan Wulong Valley Scenic Area, Lingyan Cave Scenic Area, Wengong Mountain Scenic Area, and Mandarin Duck Lake Scenic Area.
