Antigua Volcano Hiking Guide

I didn't originally plan to climb a volcano when I came to Antigua🌋 But I found a half-day volcano hiking route after searching for a long time! For those who, like me, don't have the time for a two-day overnight hike to Fuego, you can try Pacaya Volcano here. The total time spent is 6h, and it's quite relaxing to go back and forth in half a day~ It's a 1.5-hour drive one way plus 3 hours of volcano hiking. There are departures at 6 am and 2 pm. We chose to leave in the afternoon to watch the sunset🌅 There are also little dog teams that accompany you along the way, which is really healing! You won't feel tired at all~ If you're not up for the physical challenge, you can also ride a horse up the mountain. There are several rest stops along the way, and when you hike to the end, you can see the volcano up close🌋 Then you go down into the valley to roast marshmallows! You can also watch the sunset when you come down the mountain~ Ending the half-day trip💕 💡Remember to bring a jacket, as the wind is strong at the summit and it gets cooler in the evening. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes (try not to wear white shoes, or you'll end up like me with a new pair of volcano ash-covered shoes😅)
