Grand and luxurious, Chinese-style hotel

This time I stayed at the St. James Hotel in Paris, which is located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. It doesn’t feel like a hotel but more like a hidden manor. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel incorporates delicate Chinese elements into its French elegance. Especially the floral wallpaper in the restaurant and the wisteria wallpaper in the room, which are typical chinoiserie. If we trace it back, it was probably about 300 years ago when the French came into contact with Chinese ceramics and introduced them to France. They were then sought after by the French aristocrats at the time. During that period, their aesthetic concepts were influenced by Chinese elements. The hotel is very old and everything is finely crafted. The fire extinguishers in the corridor are so incongruous that they are covered with cloth bags of the same color as the corridor walls, which is very particular. The hotel has a Michelin-starred restaurant, Bellefeuille, which means beautiful leaves. It matches the leaf wallpaper in the restaurant. It is recommended to dine in the restaurant once, it is an excellent experience. The sleeping experience is impeccable, the bedding is very comfortable, and I, who have difficulty sleeping, fell asleep almost as soon as I touched the bed for several days. The hotel also has a Guerlain Spa, which you can experience if you have enough time.
