Wat Phra That Chom Thong, Phayao Province 🙏It is a temple that is a symbol of Phayao Province. There is Phra That Chom Thong, inside which contains the hair relics and the right arm relic of the Lord Buddha. It is a Lanna-style pagoda that is 30 meters high and stands on a square base that is 9 meters wide, stacked in three layers. The top is a golden umbrella. The base is covered with metal sheets, embossed with the 12 zodiac animals and beautiful Thai patterns. 🌿According to legend, the Lord Buddha once traveled to spread Buddhism in Phukamyao City and stayed overnight on a mountain located on the northern bank of Nong Eiang, which is Doi Chom Thong. He gave the hair relic to King Ashoka, who buried the hair relic in a well that was more than 70 meters deep and built a pagoda over it.
