Tirta Empul Holy Water Bali

One of the busiest water temples in Indonesia, Tirta Empul is a temple considered sacred by Balinese Hindu community. The temple has several holy springs which are said to have been created by The God Indra and believed to be blessed water that could purify those who bathe there. Normally this experience wouldn’t be on my list of things to do, however, I wanted to participate in the experience whilst in Bali. Although this site is spiritual and sacred, it sadly felt very commercialised as, despite the signs saying to tie your hair up, and not take photos , there were many men standing by to greet you once you were near the pool. The man that we met and offered to take photos guided us through experience, from the offerings to how to enter in the pool and the correct way to pray at each fountain . I felt like it was a nice person experience, however, I know other people who felt that it was over commercialised for the amount of people watching and did not feel comfortable being there. When we entered the temple for 100,000 we were given sarongs for free, if you would like to go inside the pool, you have to pay for a deposit of 100,000 where you can get a locker, however, they have no towels. There are changing rooms. #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #awesomepic #passionpassport #temple #bali
