Discovering the History of Imperial Palace

The Palace Museum is always a good idea for family #weekendgetaways when you're in Beijing. It's a huge complex of national museum located in Forbidden City with 720,000 square meters area. It was the imperial royal palace from Qing and Ming dynasty. It consists of many separate halls and courtyards. The best way to get here is with Beijing subway line 1, stop at Tiananmen East, and take exit B. It's not immediately connected to main attraction, but you need to walk approximately 18-20 minutes to reach the gate of The Palace Museum.
