Includes one night in a wooden cabin with private hot spring + two meals (BBQ🍖 and mushroom hot pot🍄‍🟫) + honey harvesting🍯 + roasted chicken🐓 + plant-based handicraft. 🌟 Highlights: The camp’s design and decor are aesthetically on point, with thoughtful details like travel manuals in the rooms showcasing the developers' dedication. Many clever touches are eye-catching. Soaking in the private hot spring at night with the soothing sound of flowing water is truly healing❤️‍🩹. The entire village is small, quiet, and sparsely populated, with nearby attractions like Sankedou Farm, Gengdu Taoyuan Homestay, and Tianhouju, a cluster of unique homestays. 🙅‍♀️ Downsides: The camp’s user experience leaves much to be desired. The camp hosts both overnight guests and day visitors for meals. While the staff are friendly, they’re clearly understaffed. We arrived at 1:30 PM on the 1st and had reminded them the day before about having mushroom hot pot🍄‍🟫 for lunch the next day, yet the staff forgot to prepare it, so we had to switch to BBQ, which took another 30 minutes to prepare. This delay also meant the planned afternoon tea was canceled. For dinner, we intended to roast chicken and cook side dishes in the shared kitchen but were told the chicken would take about an hour—it ended up taking nearly two hours. The next day’s mushroom hot pot🍄‍🟫, despite another reminder, wasn’t served until 1:30 PM, and only because we proactively fetched the soup and bowls ourselves—otherwise, it would’ve been even later😔. 🎡 Activities: ✅ Honey Harvesting🍯: The next morning, a staff member took us up the mountain to harvest honey🍯 and wild herbs. The local beekeeper was incredibly patient, and the kids had a blast. A local auntie mentioned July and August are even cooler in the mountains. ✅ Plant Handicraft: Another gripe—we originally planned to make mugwort balm. Before arrival, staff suggested harvesting honey🍯 and mugwort on the first afternoon to let it soak overnight for balm-making the next day. However, due to the prolonged meal delays and a village fish-catching🐠 activity, when I asked about the honey and mugwort harvest, staff said no one was available to guide us and told me to ask the owner, who then claimed the weather wasn’t suitable for hiking that day and postponed it to the next. As a J-type planner, I was frustrated about the balm and negotiated with the owner to switch to plant imprinting instead. 🚗 Transportation: Self-driving is recommended.
