Quanzhou, Worth a Second Visit – A 5-Day, 4-Night Spring Festival Family Trip

Day 1: Departing from Hankou Station to Quanzhou, arrived at the hotel at 7:30 pm. Can't recommend our booked hotel enough – Venus Grand Hotel! ✅ Just a 5-minute walk to Zhonglou Clock Tower, right next to West Street, and close to multiple attractions: 1.5 km to Guanyue Temple, 1.6 km to Kaiyuan Temple, 2.3 km to Tianhou Palace, and 3 km to Nan Shaolin Temple. ❤️ Every evening on our way back to the hotel, we casually explored the nearby sights and ended up seeing them all effortlessly. After dropping off our luggage, we headed out to try 🥰 Grandma Hou’s Braised Pork Zongzi. I’ve always thought zongzi was unappetizing, but Grandma Hou’s version completely surprised me—it was incredibly delicious! After the zongzi, we took a stroll to digest and visited Zhonglou Clock Tower and the Catholic Church on East Street. Su Tingyu’s Former Residence is tucked away in a charming alley, and the lanes around East Street are worth exploring—less crowded but full of delightful surprises. ● Great value: Spacious rooms, modern facilities, and a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. ● Prime location: The hotel is next to a military zone and within walking distance of Zhonglou Clock Tower and other popular spots in the ancient city. ● Clean and tidy: Rooms were spotless, bedding was fresh, with no noticeable stains or odors. Note: The hotel has a business wing and an executive wing—double-check your booking to avoid ending up in the wrong section.
