Jozankei | Stay at "Jozankei View Hotel" During Autumn Foliage Season: High Value for Money!

Jozankei, often referred to as the "Jiaoxi of Sapporo's Suburbs," is a renowned hot spring town located about an hour's drive from Sapporo city center. The hotel offers a free shuttle service, making it very convenient for independent travelers. The "Jozankei View Hotel" we stayed at this time is a 16-story, award-winning, large-scale traditional hot spring hotel. Despite its age, the property is well-maintained and offers excellent value for money. VIP Lounge and Stunning Day & Night Views The most satisfying aspect of the stay was the high value-for-money experience. During the autumn foliage season, the view from the clean rooms was breathtaking, with golden and fiery red leaves covering the mountains. Even better, we had access to the VIP lounge, where unlimited drinks and beverages were available—a perk that alone made the stay worthwhile. The dining experience was full of surprises, especially the exquisite Western-style breakfast, which was both delicious and beautifully presented. However, the buffet for lunch and dinner, due to the hotel's large scale and high number of guests, required queuing for food, and the service flow could use some improvement. The quality was also slightly below that of typical hot spring hotels. That said, we strongly recommend opting for the kaiseki meal, as it significantly enhances the dining experience. Amazing Facilities! Hot Springs x Water Park The hotel's facilities are undoubtedly its biggest highlight. It boasts at least three hot spring baths and is also home to one of Hokkaido's rare large-scale water parks. Main Building: The lower floors feature a spacious hot spring bathhouse and a 4,000-square-meter swimwear-required spa and pool area, filled with laughter and perfect for families with kids or young people looking to enjoy water activities and take photos. New Building: My personal favorite is the rooftop hot spring bath. Although the facilities are simpler, the view is incredibly open, allowing you to soak while gazing at the mountains and valleys—a perfect spot for a secluded retreat. If you're a traveler seeking high value for money, rich facilities, convenient transportation, and stunning autumn foliage, Jozankei View Hotel is an excellent choice.
