Another art center transformed from industrial relics has opened! The Grey Warehouse Art Center, originally a coal ash storage tank. You can stand on top of the tank and overlook the Huangpu River The Grey Warehouse is located in the Power Plant Relic Park on the Yangpu Riverside. Yangshupu Power Plant was once the largest thermal power plant in the Far East and one of the earliest power plants in the world, with a history of more than a hundred years. The Power Plant Relic Park retains the remnants and foundations of the original coal processing workshop buildings, as well as a large number of industrial relics and production process lines outside the flood wall, leaving indelible historical traces. Among the power plant's operating facilities is a set of water storage and purification devices. One has been transformed into a purified water cafe, which retains the texture and industrial relics of the entire site to the greatest extent. The cafe is built on the original foundation pit with a split arch, and the point-like thin columns fall on the outer ring formed in a concentric circle, which is very special in shape. Sitting in the recessed purified water pool cafe, you can glimpse the rainwater garden made by the purified water pool next to it through the columns, and you can look up to see the towering chimney. On the dock at the east end, the original dry ash coal ash tank has been transformed into the Grey Warehouse Art Space. The use pattern of the entire space is imagined as a set of completely public roaming paths, from the concrete frame at the bottom all the way to the top of the Grey Warehouse, which is level with the Yangpu Bridge. The '2023 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season' is currently being held, with the theme of 'Co-cultivation and Co-existence', featuring three exhibition areas: Low Carbon Future, Low Carbon Technology, and Green Vein Co-existence.
