Shanghai International Hotel

Shanghai International Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Shanghai, known as the 'tallest building in the Far East' in the 1930s. The hotel is located on the bustling Nanjing West Road, opposite the picturesque People's Park. The hotel was completed in 1934, with 24 floors, including 2 underground, 83.8m above ground, steel frame structure, reinforced concrete floor. It was the tallest building in the country and Asia at that time, and it has maintained the highest record in Shanghai for half a century. The hotel was designed by Laszlo Hudec, a Hungarian, internationally renowned architect.
