Kathleen’s Waitan: A Meal with a View

Today we visited the award-winning Kathleen's Waitan as part of China Restaurant Week. Once rated as a "Best-View Restaurant" by "City Weekend," Kathleen's new location Waima Road features a stunning 270-degree view of the Huangpu River and Lujiazui. On a sunny day, this is an amazing place to enjoy a tasty meal with friends. 🖼️ Environment 🖼️ After taking the elevator to the 5th floor, you're greeted by several spacious dining areas. Large windows provide a panoramic view of the river. Better yet, walk up one floor to the open-air terrace where the view is nothing short of jaw-dropping. 🍽️ Recommended Dishes 🍽️ We don't normally recommend the bread, but Kathleen's was so fresh and tasty we ordered a second helping. Add a little butter for a delightful pre-appetizer snack. 🥗 Iberian Ham Salad 🥗 Iberian ham is shaved thin and served over fresh greens, cantaloupe slices, grated parmesan cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette. 🥩 Prime Rib Steak 🥩 We ordered ours on the rare side and it didn't disappoint! The meat was tender and flavorful. 🍰 Napoleon Cake 🍰 Served with fresh strawberries, we very much wanted more of this one!
