Zhanqi was prosperous and had officials from generation to generation, headed by Beijing Army General Wang Zhu, Jiangsu County Magistrate Wang Hongze, and Jiangxi Jiujiang Prefecture Governor Wang Zuolin. Lanterns for the Lantern Festival started in the village, and the people took out the fish lanterns from the ancestral hall. The locals called it "playing with fish", and paraded the village with fish lanterns. Six large fish, each about 4 meters long and 2 meters high, swam in an orderly manner with traditional drums and dance steps.
