This landscape, which overlooks the mountains, sea, and sky, has been a subject of art since ancient times, and many artists have created masterpieces as a majestic subject likened to Chinese landscapes. The Nihon-daira Yume Terrace was built in 2018 on the summit of Nihon-daira. It is an observation deck that literally boasts a 360-degree panoramic view, and its charm is outstanding. During his lifetime, Serizawa donated his own collection of crafts from around the world to his hometown, Shizuoka City, which led to the opening of the museum. It was designed by Shirai Seiichi (1905-1983), who was nicknamed the "philosophical architect" for his unique use of light and shade. In later years, this museum, which became known as Shirai's masterpiece, fully demonstrates his unique skills, with elements of wood and water placed throughout the building, based on the solid, high-quality feel of stone, creating a space for viewing that exudes dignity and serenity. The fact that the museum is located inside the Toro ruins, known as one of Japan's leading ruins from the Yayoi period, is not unrelated to this concept.
