Sujia Tun Labor Park

Sujia Tun Labor Park was established in 1953, covering an area of 90,000 square meters. It was originally built by the Japanese as Baima Park, and if traced further back, it was a site where the Japanese army bred war horses, and later a shrine was constructed. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the shrine was demolished, but the two pairs of stone lions from the shrine were preserved. One pair of stone lions is located in the southwest of the park, while the other pair is in front of the pavilion on the east side of the Model Worker Avenue. These two pairs of stone lions not only tell the history of this land but also serve as evidence of the Japanese army's war crimes. According to the elderly who visit the park, in earlier years, there was also a horse-drinking pool left by the Japanese army, engraved with the words 'Showa twelve years, September.' Over time, this horse-drinking pool has also disappeared from people's view. Over the 70 years since its establishment, the park has carried the memories of several generations of people in the Sujia Tun district, possessing not only high historical and cultural value but also serving as a place for the public to exercise and relax. In 2023, after five months of renovation, Sujia Tun Labor Park met the citizens with a brand new look. Telling the industrial development history and the deeds of model workers of a city through a garden is a bold attempt of the park's renovation. The main entrance of the park adopts a rust color as the main tone, perfectly combined with the gear pattern, tightly integrating the Labor Park with industrial development. Upon entering the main gate, the first thing that catches the eye is the avenue composed of the Model Worker Wall, which is chosen in the same color tone as the main gate, looking harmonious and unified. The avenue stretches hundreds of meters from north to south, connecting the main gate with the north gate. The touching deeds of each model worker are written on the Model Worker Wall, accompanied by their photos. Visitors stop in front of the Model Worker Wall, read the deeds of the model workers carefully, and learn the spirit of the model workers. In the middle point of the Model Worker Avenue, which is also the center of the park, there is a 'Labor Glory' sculpture of laborers, which is also the highlight of this renovation. The figures in the sculpture are holding tools and instruments, and from their actions and expressions, it can be seen that the workers are full of passion, striving for the development and construction of Shencheng, and working hard to move forward. On the north side of the east gate of the park, there is an eye-catching industrial history and culture corridor, which includes some well-known enterprises in the industrial development of the Sujia Tun district, such as Songliao Automobile, Shenyang Nonferrous Metal Processing Factory, Shenyang Steel General Factory, and other enterprises. The industrial enterprises of the Sujia Tun district have grown together with Shenyang's industry, writing a glorious historical chapter. Many of these enterprises have entered the pages of history, contributing their own strength to the development of Shenyang. Standing in front of the corridor, looking at the glorious history of one factory after another, one cannot help but feel moved!
