Suwon Nammun Market, opened by King Jeongjo, the 22nd ruler of the Joseon Dynasty, is divided into nine areas along the road that circles Paldalmun. This time, I walked through Paldalmun Market, Yeongdong Market, and Jidong Market, which are the closest to Paldalmun. Rather than a market for tourists, they are like a local kitchen, and they were incredibly lively and interesting. Jidong Market in particular is characterized by a castle gate-like structure on the roof, and its unique entrance caught my eye. This is also famous as one of the three major Sundae Alleys in the country. There are more than 20 stores, and at lunchtime, they were all full of customers. I went alone, so I ate Sundae Gukbap. In addition to Sundae, it was filled with various parts of the fish, and the Sundae was easy to eat without any odor. A traditional market with over 200 years of history.
