Taipei Spring 1-Night, 2-Day Trip | A Walk Under Red Lanterns Instead of Cherry Blossoms

In April, as the warm spring breeze began to blow, I embarked on a 1-night, 2-day trip to Taipei, Taiwan, filled with the aroma of tea houses and the charm of red lantern streets instead of cherry blossoms. Despite the short itinerary, I managed to fully enjoy Taipei's spring, including the Yehliu, Shifen, Jiufen, and Jinguashi (Yes-Jin-Ji) tour. On the first afternoon, I took the MRT from the airport to the city center. I stayed in Ximending and started strolling leisurely. The gentle breeze made a light cardigan over a T-shirt sufficient, and the scent of spring flowers and fruit stalls in every alley added to the spring vibe. For dinner, I had a bowl of beef noodle soup at a local restaurant near Ximending. Then, I headed to the night market, savoring chicken cutlets, pineapple cakes, and taro balls while soaking in the unique spring night atmosphere, different from Korea. On the second day, I joined a group tour for the Yes-Jin-Ji tour. Yehliu was perfect for a walk with its warm sunlight and cool breeze. At Shifen, I released a sky lantern, making a wish as I gazed up at the sky. Jinguashi had a serene spring village vibe, and Jiufen's red lanterns sparkled in the sunlight, making the daytime scenery equally beautiful. I spent a relaxing afternoon sipping matcha at a tea house before heading back to Taipei city and then to the airport. The temperature was just right, between 22–25°C, making it the perfect season with no sweat and light clothing. If you're visiting Taipei in spring, the Yes-Jin-Ji tour is an absolute must.
